It’s a case of aut Caesar aut nihil. Should he succeed he’ll be able to engage in crowd surfing wherever he goes with the exception of a few uni campuses. Failure will see his government enjoy one term only.

On the other hand Shorterm tells us that it is the ALP that has the map to Camelot as long as we are prepared to borrow the airfares from the Chinese. Why don’t they use some of the stamp duty and other taxes which they were supposed to jettison when the GST kicked in? Why not soak the gambling industry? My best guess is that, secure in the safety of the group-speak, they are unaware of it, or the enormous damage they have done.

For instance, Loughnane runs a tweet about whether Labor has any policies. Straight away, Gordon and Curtis run the "Where's the policies, Bill?" line. Coincidence?

Labor does need to develop a counter to this bullshit. Possibly a response along the lines of,

" By 'policies' do you mean a series of three-word slogans, followed by a glossy brochure? Or do you have in mind the fully developed and costed policies that occurred during the Gillard government years? Policies that you consistently refused to discuss or even to seek information on."

Most reporters seem to have lost the ability to think for themselves and to seek out information. Some is due to corporate control. A lot is due to the group-speak mentality. Related to it is the personal career insecurity in a shrinking MSM. Many have the fear that in the eventual wash-up, Murdoch will be the only employer left standing.

They have done much more damage to the integrity of their profession and to the future of this country than the paid hatchet men of an earlier time like Alan Reid would ever have contemplated.Gorgeous Dunnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10540625260311418333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22534369.post-33596762185496414952014-05-19T15:11:01.959+10:002014-05-19T15:11:01.959+10:00They don't even hold with the concept of "...They don't even hold with the concept of "Greater Good", which is why they can be so hard to debate - they have different goalposts to the other teamsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13467071669624321286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22534369.post-92105664943712327372014-05-19T12:33:57.237+10:002014-05-19T12:33:57.237+10:00Michelle bloody Grattan was wittering away on the ...Michelle bloody Grattan was wittering away on the radio this morning, blurring the line between political analysis and a recounting of who said what to who even more than usual. They even (pretty heroically) announced some budget nasties beforehand (taking away the company car concession, closing the super tax loophole, increase in medicare levy to help pay for NDIS). Journalists then and now appear to be suffering some kind of attention deficient disorder. The Liberal media campaign scorned consultation in favor of a well planed program of distraction. Take for example synchronising the timing of the budget with two Royal Commissions, expected to provide negative coverage of Labor.

Both turned out to be fizzers, but not to worry Christopher Pyne had Julie Bishop 'take one for the team' by sending her out to be 'inappropriately manhandled' by uni students (groan).

All just another cunning stunt by Pyne.Notushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03173819673356724711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22534369.post-79986543683532773662014-05-18T13:27:17.043+10:002014-05-18T13:27:17.043+10:00Andrew

Sales from 7.30 dining with Abbott this shows how compromised she is when it comes to interviewing Abbott.
Policies and how those policies will be a benefit to society I do not see these practices being put in place in fact what we get is supposedly leaked information so it can be run past the community to see how it is received.
